How cashless works, step by step

  1. Before your visit. Send your insurer or TPA name, your policy number and the planned procedure on WhatsApp. The hospital checks whether your policy can be processed cashless here.
  2. Consultation. The surgeon examines you and confirms what is advised. You are given a written estimate.
  3. Pre-authorisation. The hospital sends a pre-authorisation request to your insurer or TPA, with the surgeon's notes and your documents.
  4. The insurer's decision. The insurer or TPA approves an amount, asks for more information, or declines. This decision and the time it takes rest with the insurer, not with the hospital.
  5. Day of the procedure. You sign the claim forms. You pay only what your policy does not cover.
  6. Final bill. After the procedure the hospital sends the final bill to the insurer or TPA. Any amount not approved is settled by you.

What a policy may not cover

  • A lens upgrade beyond the lens your policy allows. Many policies cover a standard monofocal lens and treat other lenses as an upgrade.
  • Co-payments, deductibles and sub-limits written into your policy.
  • Items your insurer lists as non-payable.
  • Conditions still inside a waiting period under your policy.

You are told the expected amount payable by you before the procedure, once the insurer has responded.

Documents to bring

  • Your health insurance card or e-card, and a copy of the policy.
  • A government photo ID of the patient, and of the policyholder if different.
  • Your employee ID, if the policy is through your employer.
  • Earlier policy copies, if your insurer asks for proof of continuous cover.
  • Earlier eye reports, prescriptions and discharge summaries.
  • Any identity or KYC document your insurer asks for.

If cashless does not apply: reimbursement

If your policy cannot be processed cashless here, you pay the hospital and claim from your insurer. The hospital gives you the itemised bill, the discharge summary and the reports your insurer needs for the claim. Payment can be made by cash, card, UPI or internet banking.

What to send on WhatsApp

  • Insurer or TPA name
  • Policy number (if you have it)
  • Planned procedure or concern (e.g. cataract, intravitreal injection)

Insurance and TPA queries are also taken on the main line, 80966 65550, during OPD hours: Monday to Saturday, 10 AM to 2 PM and 4:30 PM to 7 PM.

Refractive surgery

Most policies treat refractive surgery (LASIK, SMILE, PRK and ICL) as elective and exclude it. This is confirmed for your policy when you ask. The suitability assessment page explains how laser correction is assessed.

Frequently asked questions

Do you accept cashless?

Yes, for many insurers and TPAs, including cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, and pterygium surgery with conjunctival autograft. Confirm on WhatsApp before your visit.

Are you on GIPSA PPN?

Is my policy or TPA accepted here?

What is the difference between cashless and reimbursement?

Cashless means the hospital settles approved charges directly with your insurer or TPA, so you pay only what your policy does not cover. Reimbursement means you pay first and claim it back from your insurer later. We will tell you which one applies to your policy before the day.

What does cataract surgery cost if my policy doesn't cover it?

The cost depends on the lens chosen and your individual case, which the surgeon works out with you. A written estimate is given after the consultation, once your eyes have been examined. You can contact the hospital on WhatsApp or by phone.
